I first met Alessandro in Lisbon. We hit it off and
he said that I had to visit him in Napoli when I got to Italy. He said I would
stay with him and his family and he would take me around to see the sights. Not
one to turn down an offer of free room and board, I called him from Rome and
went to visit.

In Italy, it's common for entire families to live in the
same apartment complex. This was true of Alessandro's family. I took part in
a huge family birthday and got grilled in Italian by all his relatives. |

 We hit the
bars and patios of Napoli the first night. |

Francesca (she was über-hot),
Alessandro and his sister Ida. |

After watching Italy get robbed of several
goals in a World Cup match, we hit the beach for some relaxation and
recovery. |
The next rainy day, Alessandro, Sergio (Sergino),
and I drove along the Amalfi Coast to
Positano (another town that I've
always wanted to see). |

 |
The town of
Positano on only the second rainy day of my
entire trip. |

On the twisty cliffside road to
Positano. |

After that picture, my camera
started to make sounds that it shouldn't have been making. My trusty camera
gave out after years of service.
Napoli is well-known for its pizza. We went to the best pizzeria in
Napoli (as only a local would know) where I had the best pizza I've ever
eaten. I don't think I can ever eat at Pizza Hut after that culinary orgasm.
Not necessarily a bad thing. |
Me and Alessandro's family. |
The next morning, Alessandro drove me to the train station, where I headed
back to Rome (you've already seen all the pics) for a few more days. After that,
it was on to the canals of
Venice!
