Since it was so hot outside, we decided to bicycle out to a nearby lake. We didn't really know where we were going, or how far it really was, but we headed out anyways. One thing we neglected to think about was that the landscape surrounding Salzburg is pretty mountainous. The ride to the lake was uphill the entire way. We left behind all the girls and one of the guys, but the remainder of us pushed on. When we finally made it to the lake, we were greeted by cool waters and stunning landscapes. |

Can you tell what's odd about this picture? |
On our return, we hit the town in a big way. I broke one of my cardinal rules yet again...don't drink with Australians. |

The Australians left Salzburg the next day, and left me with a hangover. Bastards. Well, the weather was crappy (only the third day of bad weather in two months!) so I put aside my original plans to go parasailing and decided to go to the salt mines (Salzburg was built with salt money, hence the name) with several Americans. |

The most fun part of the tour was the wooden slide down the tunnel. |

Why we had to wear this outfit was beyond me. |

The weather broke long enough for us to ride on what can best be described as a one man sled on a winding monorail down a ski hill (I didn't get any pictures, unfortunately). Not long after our ride, the rain returned with a vengeance. Most of us huddled in a bus shelter waiting for the bus to come, but some of us had other ideas. We decided to walk through a series of meadows that looked like they went right down to the town. We bounded off, singing "The hills are alive with the sound of music" as we got drenched in the downpour. Our adventure soon came to an end as we came face to face with an electric fence. I was the only one brave enough (or stupid enough) to test the fence. It was definitely live. We looked around for an alternate route for a while, but eventually returned to the bus shelter defeated and wet. The next morning, me and another girl decided to check out a
little town called
